“We wanted to bring back the 5K, walk with your dog, walk with your friends, and then finish off with a fun, chill atmosphere for the walkers and runners to enjoy!”

Sunday, June 1st, will be a huge day for animal lovers and benefactors alike in the Capital Region. The Animal Protective Foundation will host their fourth Annual Woofstock Walk-A-Thon and festival event at Lions Pavilion in Scotia.

Woofstock, like previous events organized by The Animal Protective Foundation, including the FirePlug 500 Walk-A-Thon, is designed to generate significant support for the organization's mission. This event focuses on raising funds through participant donations, registration for the event, and raffles, to promote the health and safety of the animals in the shelter, furthering the foundation's goals, and commitment to animal welfare.

“All funds come back to the APF and are specifically used to help the animals, as well as provide for the needs of the shelter and the spay and neuter clinic,” said Cassandra Metke, Director of Development at The Animal Protective Foundation. When discussing the ways in which the public can pitch in to aid the APF’s cause, she highlighted, “Participants can send in a donation, they can donate online, or they can sign up to be a part of the event and have some fun!”

With check-in beginning at 9:30 am on the day of the event, attendees can expect a day filled with furry faces, good friends, a wide variety of vendors and food trucks, as well as a musical appearance from the highly celebrated Grand Central Station.

“We wanted to bring back the 5K, walk with your dog, walk with your friends, and then finish off with a fun, chill atmosphere for the walkers and runners to enjoy!” Cassandra beamed.

Those registered for the Walk-A-Thon are automatically provided with festival admission and are eligible to win a special 2025 Woofstock festival shirt. For more information regarding registration and attendance, visit https://secure.qgiv.com/event/2025woofstock5kandwalk-a-thon/.
