Saratoga officials gathered earlier this week to announce the city’s new “free parking” initiative.

Effective immediately, parking meters in downtown Saratoga will be turned off. Visitors and residents alike will not have to pay for parking until Memorial Day 2026—a total of 264 days of free parking.

Saratoga Springs Commissioner of Public Works, Chuck Marshall, said the initiative will not only benefit visitors and residents but will also support local businesses and vendors. “I think they look at people from Wilton and Greenfield, who consider this their downtown, too. They’re going to be the ones who, on a year-round basis, come down and pay to park. Now that the outside tourist season has come to a close, this is an opportunity for them to come and park for free.”

Although this initiative will conclude on Memorial Day 2026, city officials are already exploring additional opportunities to provide free parking benefits in the future.
