Sunday, September 7, The Big Top Group presents Cirque Kikasse’s acclaimed production, SANTÉ!, with two family-friendly shows at Prospect Park, Troy at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Both performances are free and open to everyone.
On Monday, August 25th, our editor-in-chief experienced an exclusive preview of SANTÉ! by Cirque Kikasse, a traveling Canadian circus currently in brief residence at Arts, Letters & Numbers (ALN) in Averill Park. After several days in the area, the troupe will head to UMass and New York City, but they will return to Troy for a performance on September 7th.
Arts, Letters & Numbers serves as a multidisciplinary creative space and artist residency under the leadership of founding director and president David Gersten. Always seeking new and unique opportunities, Gersten embraced the chance to host Cirque Kikasse, offering a select audience a taste of their energetic and hilarious performance on Monday. During their stay, the troupe is refining their act and engaging with local artists and the creative community.
Based in Quebec, Cirque Kikasse is celebrated internationally for its daring acrobatics, whimsical humor, and innovative approach to performance. Notably, it is the only traveling circus that also serves as both a food truck and a beer truck, creating a truly immersive sensory experience.
Then, on Sunday, September 7, The Big Top Group presents Cirque Kikasse’s acclaimed production, SANTÉ!, with two family-friendly shows at Prospect Park, Troy at 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Both performances are free and open to everyone.
SANTÉ! is a high-energy spectacle featuring astonishing acrobatics, balance stunts, and comedic antics, all centered around the troupe’s custom-built Cirque Truck. Audiences will be amazed as the truck transforms into a 30-foot tower of furniture and the crew brings slapstick cleaning routines to life, delivering joy to all ages.
