Capital Streets, a local regional transportation advocacy nonprofit focused on grassroots action, will be celebrating three years of coalition building and advocacy in the Albany area on Thursday, April 2 at Lark Hall. The organization champions efforts to make our communities more walkable, bike-friendly and transit-oriented, and will turn three in April. To celebrate, they’re throwing a fundraiser anniversary party open to the public at the esteemed Lark Street venue from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

There will be a community happy hour catered by Troy-based Ali Baba, a presentation on Capital Streets’ work to advance a more accessible and sustainable transportation system that accommodates all residents of the Capital Region, and even an award ceremony to recognize the work of local community advocates and partners. There will also be entertainment provided by the Dylan Perrillo Quartet.

Tickets are available on a sliding scale to attend, though a $30 per person donation is suggested for entrance to the event. Donations support Capital Streets’ work focused on improving the region’s transportation network by creating more attractive, connected, and usable neighborhood streets. In addition to their grassroots advocacy on walkable communities, Capital Streets works as a resource for local municipalities to advance lasting policy and infrastructure changes towards more resilient, equitable, and livable communities in the Capital Region.
