PREVIEW: Lift Every Voice: A Juneteenth Musical Celebration
6/17 @ The Palace, Albany
On Tuesday, June 17, the Palace Theatre will come alive with sound, spirit, and soul for Lift Every Voice: A Juneteenth Musical Celebration, a powerful evening of music, history, and Black excellence.
Headlined by the internationally acclaimed Howard University Gospel Choir, the lineup also features the Black Theatre Troupe of Upstate NY, Empire State Youth Orchestra, and the Albany Symphony. Emmy-winning actress, singer, and storyteller Barbara Howard will host the night, guiding audiences through a program that honors Black performing artists across generations.
Presented in partnership with the Albany Black Chamber of Commerce, Inc. & Social Club and the Albany Symphony, this one-night-only event is part of a broader week of Juneteenth programming in the Capital Region, a call to celebrate freedom, community, and culture.
Whether it’s the thunder of gospel harmonies or the stirring blend of orchestra and voice, this night promises to be as joyful as it is reflective — a space to remember, rejoice, and keep moving forward.
This is so much more than a concert. It’s a moment of truth, legacy, and celebration.
Lift Every Voice begins at 7:30pm on June 17. Tickets are $29, or $15 for students with ID. Available now at palacealbany.org, Ticketmaster, or in person at the Palace Theatre box office.
