10/31, Slidin’ Dirty
Slidin’ Dirty hosted A Nightmare on River Street this Halloween in its new venue space, where guests could jam out to live DJ sets, grab a drink at the bar, and snack on some mini sliders.
The night opened with a B2B from Spike.lee, featuring Cody Dzintar (Spike Right) and Lee Keanuh (Lowkee). Hazeyy followed with a set spun in an alien mask, closing with a special tribute to Anthony Slurff, a dear friend of the local music community. It was a meaningful moment that brought friends together to remember and celebrate Anthony through their shared love of music.
Following the tribute, Father Figure (Matt Weishaupt & Matt McLaren) took the decks & guitar before Waybach. Weishaupt also recently launched Father Figure Presents, an initiative focused on bringing fresh EDM talent to Sliding Dirty and creating more opportunities for the local scene.
Waybach made his return to Troy, paying homage to the city that he says, "gave him his first chance." pheel. (Phillip Gallo), a 518 native, also returned to Troy, bringing a blend of hip-hop and downtempo sounds. His set shifted the energy with chill vibes and flowing dance rhythms.
Thought Process (Troy Rich) made his Troy debut dressed as Austin Powers, delivering a set full of tracks that got the crowd moving. Next up were Slides, a duo featuring Troy and his partner Catherine (@alittlecatdog). Dressed as Austin Powers' iconic fembot, Catherine joined Troy for a set of disco jams that brought a playful, nostalgic energy to the dance floor.
The crowd were locked in and dressed to the nines, with costumes of all kinds and energy that lasted throughout the night. Between hometown favorites, disco grooves, and a heartfelt tribute, A Nightmare on River Street captured the creativity, connection, and spirit of Troy's local music scene.
