PREVIEW: Freedom Park’s Free Summer Concert Series

Beginning 6/25 @ Freedom Park, Scotia

Once summer hits, everyone begins vying for family-friendly entertainment. Bonus points if it’s outdoors. Even bonusier points if it’s free.

Thankfully, every year Freedom Park in Scotia swoops in and checks all the right boxes. Their annual free summer concert series kicks off on June 25th, and runs through August 23rd with a total of 25 shows at their location across the street from Collins Park (and right next to the infamous Jumpin’ Jacks – a great opportunity for dinner and a show!).

As always, the array of talent featured is diverse in sound and scope, including things as unique as the series kickoff, Halfway to Christmas Feztacular, featuring popular local band, Big Fez & the Surfmatics. Freedom Park Foundation Board President and Entertainment Director Cathy Gatta has promised “the largest summer snowball fight” and if that doesn’t intrigue you, we don’t know what will.

Elsewhere on the docket are performances by regional favorite country act Skeeter Creek, Eddies Hall of Fame duo SIRSY, the insanely talented up-and-comer Zorbas Trio, local party legends The Refrigerators, and the always animated Alex Torres & His Latin Orchestra. To make things even more family friendly, there will also be two kids-specific shows.

“On Sunday, July 13th, we’re bringing in the Rock & Roll Playhouse featuring Bob Marley for Kids, which will include games like freeze dance, a parachute, and more,” Gatta said. “The second kids show is a Hula Hoop Jam featuring Miss 360 on Sunday, July 20th. She will be holding a hula hoop teaching workshop and showing off her amazing skills.”

The full lineup, which truly has something for everyone, can be found below. We’ll see you at the park this summer!

All shows are rain or shine, and start at 7:00pm at the outdoor amphitheater located on Schonowee Avenue in Scotia. For more information on Freedom Park and the 2025 Schedule of Events visit FreedomParkScotia.com, or @freedomparkscotia on Facebook and Instagram.
