JUNe 6th events
Each month, the city of Albany brings the local arts and culture scene to life for First Friday. Last month, we vowed to get people out of the house and get the band back together, and in that same spirit, we’re back for another round of local music showcases throughout the downtown area tomorrow night!
Stemming from a desire to give a more prominent platform to the incredible array of original music produced in the Capital Region, we are thrilled to partner with The Eleven at Lark Hall, Ophelia’s on Broadway, Albany Distilling Company, and The Blake Annex for a slate of local talent to kick off Women’s History Month.
Ophelia’s on Broadway will feature singer/songwriter Shannon Roy from 5:00 - 7:00, Over at The Eleven at Lark Hall will be Tops of Trees at 6:00 PM. Emack and Bolio’s will have Capital Groove from 7-9:30 and McGeary’s will have The Croaks at 7pm! Joining us this month will be Ama Cocina with East Coast Playaz from 6-9!
Lastly and perhaps most uniquely, The Blake Annex will be hosting a Youth Stage. An incredible opportunity for young musicians to come showcase their talents and cut their teeth, it’s also an opportunity for local music fans to catch the next generation of Capital Region talent. This month Harley Reign, Alec Krawiecki, The Rock Pit Band others will grace the Annex for a free performance with DJ Amelia hosting!
In addition to the Metroland Now curated events, there will be ticketed programming at Ophelia’s (Seth David w/ Double Take, Rome Thrasher, Gimmie Gimmie, Kellenhagen (7PM) $30 plus another edition of Cracked Karaoke at DIVE.
So if you’re looking for a place to spend your Friday Happy Hour (and beyond!), why not pair it with some local music? We assure you it’ll go down real smooth.
