PREVIEW: A Dual Destiny: Tummy Rub Records Bazaar & Dan Carr’s Single Release Party

July is a fine time to be outside for live music, yard sales, and of course some grillin’ and chillin’. If you’re into all of that, then you’re in luck because this Saturday, July 5th, Albany’s Tummy Rub Records will be hosting its inaugural Tummy Rub Bazaar at their headquarters located at 703 Yates Street with all of those things happening!
This is a dual nature event, both acting as a fundraiser for future vinyl releases for Tummy Rub artists, with a suggested donation of $5, but also celebrating the release of Dan Carr and The Cure for Asthma’s new single, “Duel Destiny”, off of their upcoming full length album, Big Brain Watering Hole, as well as the music video.
Tummy Rub Records is a local, independent label whose mission is to connect listeners with artists and help them directly with financial stability that simply isn’t possible in the age of streaming. With that in mind, they are hosting a bazaar that will feature a yard sale of music gear, equipment, clothes, and other select items. Additionally, there will be food options off the grill (with allergy friendly options), as well as solo sets from Tummy Rub Records family artists, Dan Carr & The Cure for Asthma, Joe Taurone, and toriendofstory. There will also be DJ sets by DJ Loca and special guest performances by other local artists like Keta Ester, and more.
The celebration of “Duel Destiny” is of course the other reason for this occasion. Both the track and music video will be available on Friday, July 4th on all major streaming platforms and YouTube, respectively. The single (and album) was recorded live at the Tummy Rub Records Studio. The track is an indie twang number that gets intricate in the ways that life can be, full of highs, lows, and plenty of distortion. Fans are encouraged to presave the track to help increase visibility with streaming, and of course prepare you to sing along on the 5th.
