PREVIEW: Super Dark Presents a Night of Folk-Pop Utopia in Saratoga
11/24 @ Desperate Annie’s, Saratoga Springs
“This combination of artists is sure to put on an impressive array of performances that will warm you from the inside out like a nice cup of tea on a chilly November Monday.”
It’s cliche to say, but Mondays are probably the least enjoyable day of the week. However, Super Dark Collective is working to change that with their weekly Monday night shows.
On November 24, Super Dark and Saratoga Springs’ Desperate Annie’s are going to be brightening up your evening with performances from The Belle Curves, Nathan Meltz and the House of Tomorrow, and Steve Hammond. With the nights getting longer and the weather getting colder, everyone could use a good excuse to go out and continue enjoying local music.
The Belle Curves will be headlining the event, bringing warm, soothing tones to a chilly late November evening. The Belle Curves is an ever-rotating group of musicians, always led by singer, lyricist, bassist, and multi-instrumentalist Delaney Hafener. Delaney is influenced by artists like Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, and The Band while bringing her own unique touch to the songs. Delaney has been working on her newest record, with the release date to come sometime in early 2026. Her most recent album, Subject to Change, represents her life in a stage of flux, dealing with all that change, and how it’s molded her as a person in the last few years. The Belle Curves are great live, showing off Delaney’s ability to lead a band that can change up at any moment and still be tight and together.
Joining The Belle Curves will be Nathan Meltz and the House of Tomorrow. Nathan Meltz is a local musician and screen printer who leads the House of Tomorrow in “pop songs about failed utopias.” The House of Tomorrow musicians include Kim Tateo, Brady Potts, Chris Brown, Dan Prockup, and Connor Armbruster. The music is unique and interesting, but accessible to anyone who enjoys a folk-pop moment. Their 2023 album Tales of Failed Utopias From the Era of Victoria was mastered by another Troy local and third act for the evening, Steve Hammond. Hammond is a musician and audio engineer who runs Lorchestral Recording Company. He performs in numerous local bands including Ice Queen, The A.M.’s, and Rabid Children.
This combination of artists is sure to put on an impressive array of performances that will warm you from the inside out like a nice cup of tea on a chilly November Monday.
