From humble beginnings in a warehouse in Troy to international acclaim, Super 400 have made a lasting impression on the area music scene, and they aren’t done yet. 2026 marks the band’s 30th anniversary, and in conjunction with this major milestone, they are releasing a brand new album titled Spirit in the Sound, and are also performing at Cohoes Music Hall on February 28.
Featuring Joe Daley on drums, Kenny Hohman on guitar, and Lori Friday on electric bass and keyboards, the band has been creating their own distinct brand of rock and roll music since 1996, incorporating flavors of the ‘60s and ‘70s with more modern hooks and melodic sensibilities.
Throughout the band's history, they have been celebrated through local honors, such as having February 25 declared “Super 400 Day” by the city of Troy in 2006, just ten years after forming, and a second “Super 400 Day” on January 19, by the current mayor in 2024. Additionally, they have been inducted into the Capital Region Eddies Music Hall of Fame, and have won Eddies awards for best Pop/Rock Artist in 2022 and 2023, while winning for best Rock artist just last year in 2025. This is a band that is showing no signs of slowing down, and we are here for it.
Stay tuned for more in-depth coverage, as Metroland helps celebrate 30 years of Super 400.
