PREVIEW: Northern Current Music Festival Announces 2025 Lineup

8/31 @ Riverside Park, Saranac Lake

“Live music in the heart of the Adirondacks, with Scarface Mountain as a backdrop, is a breathtaking experience…”

It’s admittedly a bit daunting to think about Labor Day weekend—the sort-of-but-not-really end of summer as we know it—but Saranac Lake is at least giving us something to look forward to.

Their free, family-friendly music festival, Northern Current, is slated to return to Riverside Park on August 31, and the lineup was just announced today. Fans of funk, jam, psychedelic rock and any offshoots that may exist in the genre ether will have plenty to get excited about! 2025’s lineup includes Combo Chimbita, Jimkata, Evolfo, Magnolia Boulevard, Organ Fairchild, Jackson & The Janks, and Nubble. This year will also feature local food vendors, a Kid Zone, and stunning visual projections by The Station ADK, providing a mesmerizing visual experience to accompany the top-notch live music that’s in store.

“Northern Current continues to be a true community effort, and we’re thrilled to bring this year’s incredible lineup to life,” says Event Coordinator Kiki Sarko. “From the artists to our volunteers and sponsors, the support we receive is what makes this festival so special.”

Another thing that makes the festival so special? The scenery. Live music in the heart of the Adirondacks, with Scarface Mountain as a backdrop, is a breathtaking experience and worth the price of admission alone (did we mention it’s a free festival?!). It’s a true celebration of music and culture that aims to bring the entire community together.

Northern Current is a nonprofit music festival, operating under the fiscal sponsorship of the Saranac Lake Rotary Foundation. The event is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrants Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts.
