Elizabeth Strout, most famously distinguished for her piece Olive Kitteridge, which later came to win a Pulitzer Prize and was transformed into an HBO miniseries, is joining forces with The Friends of Schenectady County Public Library to host a special night for the upstate community. From lifelong fans of Strout's work to inspiring writers ready for some inspiration, this night is perfect for anyone with an appreciation for the art of literature.
The Friends of Schenectady County Public Library is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to providing support for the hidden gem that is the library system. The Friends of Schenectady County Public Library aims to not only celebrate and promote one of America’s most renowned fiction writers but also to bring Strout's works to new audiences through this event. Attendees can expect a discussion with Strout, recounting her infamous characters and storylines, as well as outlining her personal writing process. This event will be followed by a book signing at the Open Door Bookstore on Jay Street, with copies of Strout's books available for purchase.
