PREVIEW: Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady Local Arts Exhibit
02/18 @ Adeline Wright Graham Clubhouse
The Boys & Girls Club of Schenectady has been serving young people in the community since 1936, becoming the largest youth development organization in the county over the past 90 years.
Beyond their local chapter, there is the national organization, and on Wednesday, February 18, the BGCS will be participating in a search to find talented young artists, with a local arts exhibition at the Adeline Wright Graham Clubhouse in Schenectady.
The exhibit is part of the National Arts Contest, an initiative to drive young people’s creativity, as well as encourage cultural enrichment in the community. With the gallery expected to feature different artwork of a variety of mediums by Club members ages 6–18, ultimately there will be winners chosen through a panel of judges. While there is a competition at its core, this is primarily an opportunity to see many unique perspectives and hear the voices of many of the young artists in the community.
This is a free event and open to the public. The Clubhouse is located at 104 Education Drive, Schenectady, NY 12303. For more information, please contact the main office at 518-374-4714
