Here’s a bit more info on the events mentioned today on CRL!
On Friday, October 2nd, the First Friday in Albany will take place for our 20th Anniversary! This event takes place in 30 different locations throughout the city, showcasing arts and music performances. Downtown Albany, including Broadway and Pearl streets, Lark Street, Delaware Avenue, and more! Events begin at noon and continuing into the evening. This is a free event for all ages!

Additionally, on Friday, October 2nd, Cohoes Music Hall will host “Tonight’s The Night,” a Neil Young tribute act. This performance will feature an artist who closely resembles Neil Young himself. The show will commence at 7:30 PM, and tickets are available for purchase at Cohoes Music Hall.
On October 3rd, Caffe Lena at SPAC will host a full day of free live music on the Charles R. Wood Stage. This year’s lineup includes five bands that explore various musical genres, such as bluegrass, jazz, soul, R&B, pop, and indie-folk. The performers include Vanessa Collier, Addison Agen, Alla Boara, The Cody Sisters, and Bad Penny Pleasuremakers. The event will begin at noon.

On October 15th-18th, the Egg will host Burnout Paradise, a unique performance that combines interactive comedy, theatrical elements, and endurance challenges. The performance will be a commentary on societal expectations in the 21st century. Four performers will use treadmills, and the show will begin as a simple wager between the performer and the audience. However, it will escalate into a desperate attempt to complete a series of increasingly difficult tasks, such as preparing a pasta dinner and submitting a grant application.

On October 16, 2026, the Asian Arts New York (AANY) will host its second annual gala at the Glen Sanders Mansion. The event will be themed “Imperial Splendor: East Meets Art Deco Glamour.” Wei from AANY was the cover star of this month’s publication, and her organization actively promotes Asian arts, heritage, and culture within the community. https://asianartsny.org/up_coming
On October 20, the alternative rock band Collective Soul will embark on their anniversary tour featuring their classic hits at The Palace. The event will be supported by the rock band Plush, led by local sensation and voice finalist Moriah Formica.
