GALLERY: The Triumphant Return of Art on Lark

06/06 @ Lark Street, Albany

Lark Street was full of life this past weekend as 10 local musicians performed across two stages, over 150 artists and vendors lined both sides of the street, and thousands of residents came out to support our vibrant arts community.

Walking up and down the street, it was impossible not to be inspired by the immense creativity, personality and passion on display. From paintings to sculptures to dance numbers to 3D printed toys and everything in between, the street radiated with authenticity. Above all else, it served as a reminder that art is deeply rooted in humanness, and it would be foolish to try and water it down with things like artificial intelligence.

In addition to the artists, the two stages of continuous music had something for everyone, as people were dancing in the streets to Taina Asili, Bravely, The Sound Minds, Camtron 5000 and the Albany Rock Pit band on the Spring Street Stage, and Sydney Worthley, Otobo, Lulu Grey, Erin Harkes and Aila Chiar on the Madison Ave Stage. Each performance was enthusiastic and memorable, showcasing just a fraction of the immense talent that calls the Capital Region home.

A huge thank you to all the sponsors, artists and performers, as well as the Lark Street BID for partnering with us on such an exciting event. We had the best time celebrating local arts and entertainment with you.
