Atlanta-based Manchester Orchestra front man Andy Hull made a mid-tour stop at Bearsville Theater on Saturday night for an intimate, soul-stirring performance. Playing more than a dozen songs from Manchester Orchestra’s catalogue and a pair of songs — “We Were Made Out of Lightning” and “Rotten Black Root,” from Hull’s side Project, Right Away, Great Captain — Hull had the audience both mesmerized into silence and at times singing along. Not wasting much time in between songs with unnecessary banter Hull let his songs do most of the talking.

Joining him on stage for “The Maze” and “The Gold” was tour-mate, and friend of Hull’s, Caroline Swon performing under the moniker Brother Bird. Swon’s personal songs were the perfect songs to ready the crowd for Hull’s raw and emotional performance. Woodstock’s Bearsville Theater couldn’t have been a more perfect venue for the intimate performance.
